Wishing you a happy, Art-full New Year

It’s been quite a year for both Mandy & Charlie, not to mention Mandy’s eldest daughter – Katie – who had her debut single released. Art & creativity run deep in this family.

Some of the highlights have been Charlie winning both the Buxton Spa Prize and the Derbyshire Open art competitions.

Charlie rounded the year off in style with her ‘I Am Collective’ initiative, which saw a group of talented young artists come together to form their own exhibition, staged at the Green Man Gallery, Buxton, during October.

Together with her step-sister Georgie, they appeared on Radio interviews and at Teenage Market venues in and around the Peak District, spreading the word of the I Am Collective as well as raising funds to hold their October exhibition.

Mandy, meanwhile, has been concentrating on making her art accessible to all, and her artworks now appear on Saatchi Art and Society 6, where you can now buy her art on a wide range of clothing and gifts.

Her new collection of beach scenes, based on the wide open bays and rugged beaches of Anglesey have proven exceptionaly popular, along with one of her latest artworks – Thames Riverboat, which featured in Saatchi Art Gift Catalogue.

And no round-up of 2015 would be complete without mentioning Mandy’s eldest daughter – Katie – who saw months of hard work and hours in a recording studio culminate in the release of her debut single – Stranger.

Written by Katie herself, with a video shot on location around the Peak District, and the album cover a moody woodland scene created by Mandy herself.

So far it’s had nearly 10,000 views on YouTube and secured radio slots & interviews on local radian stations. A follow up single is nearly complete and the aim is to produce an EP in 2016.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has tweeted, liked, shared and left valued comments of the work of Mandy, Charlie & Katie on social media and more traditional methods during 2015.

With so much already underway for 2016, it’s going to be another even greater year for Mandy and her family, so watch this space!
